My God is a Loving God

My God is a loving God
Not one of vengeance or wrath
But she who comes with arms open
And warms the heart with a loving laugh
My God helps me in so many ways
When things go wrong, I don’t question why
I just give in to faith ever renewing
And look into her blessed eyes

It may be blasphemy today
It may be wrong to say
It may be why I feel this way

My God is a loving God
Not one to cruelly destroy
But breathes her life into me
When her kiss is enjoyed
My God is the creator of me
And all that I am
A never ending story
To be read again and again

It may be blasphemy today
My naked body offered up this way
Before my God I pray
