the years
they fell like rocks
in a landslide between us
but my back was strong, and so too, was yours
and together we cleared the road,
effortlessly and without breaking a single bead
breaking a single bead of sweat.

Love is many a splendid and bewildering thing; the end to the song will never be realized---there is always another variation on love's wonder and complexity. I really like the rock metaphor, and the idea of hard work to make things come together in love's unity of spirit. Enjoyed -- Art
