I approached and asked him "What's the matter?" He seemed lost in thought, in a daze. "It's the weather," he said, "It's the weather. It's been raining non-stop for three days. When I close my eyes I can hear it drumming, Beating on the window pane at night. The forecast promised better days were coming, - But it's freezing, with no change in sight. And the puddles have slowly glazed over. There is ice on the pavement, - black ice. In this climate, time has to move slower, - Minutes drag when the sun doesn't rise. On the streets, the people shield their faces Rushing off to work, not looking up. Friends don't pause to say few simple phrases That could make this melancholy stop." 'Well in that case, listen," I responded. 'There a band that's playing at Blue Note. Come along and don't feel so despondent. Let the warmth of music fill your thoughts. Fill the void of misery with laughter, And observe the weather through this lens. Rainy nights will seem so sweet thereafter, If you spend them partying with friends." http://home.comcast.net/~kneller/aboutme.html [This message has been edited by Master (02-28-2010 01:49 PM).] |

Beautifully written, dear Andrey. In reaching out and caring there is such warmth. And I agree, music is healing! Love, Margherita |

Well Done! But I don't like parties. My wife makes me go. I would rather be reading your poems on this site. |
