NORMAN MOCKWELL once a Pennsylvania railway station now a subway sandwich restaurant you can lean on the old ticket counter as you wait in line for your turn in the single stall unisex washroom it’s there a local tells me Charles Manson and Norman Rockwell have both dined here. Manson had a one-foot veggie sub, Rockwell – six inch meatball on whole wheat. when I get my turn in the stall I see a swastika carved into the toilet seat; Charles Manson’s name is carved beside it, but there’s no mistaking that Rockwell style Artwork that accompanies this poem can be viewed at the WORD STUFF page of anthonyarmstrong.ca poetry podcasts, blogs and photopoems at URL= http://anthonyarmstrong.ca |

I once saw Charles Manson and 2 of his girls skinny dipping at Seal Beach before they were arrested. They stopped and asked my brother for a cigarette and then left on a motor scooter. I think I would have rather have seen Norman Rockwell. Ida |
