My dearest poets

If you could fall in love with words
I'd fall in love with you
all I ever wanted
is everything you do
you bring me colors of the rainbow
as in word flowers
I could sit and listen to you
for hours and hours
take me places, I've never been
I am never bored
all of that and so much more
you are my reward
when sadness has me in its grips
you wrap your arms around
pull me oh so close to you
I am safe and sound
reach right past all my hurt
there you touch my heart
will always have you near to me
we shall never part
the world is such a sweeter place
since I have you
even the plain and simple
through your eyes look new
you’re always here to fill me up
even as empty as I can be
take my hand to lift me up
you set my spirit free
bring me shelter out of rain
take me home
ease my pain
taste my tears
stir my passion
and all of this
with the words you fashion
yes its true
you calm my soul
even remind me
when I'm out of control
your forgiving, wise
without thought of gender
you make me so happy
I awe in all your splendor
you may think me foolish
yes that could be true
but if i could fall in love with words
I'd fall in love with you

Happy New Year Poets

You are a special lady, and I just love how you write.

This makes my heart sigh....so nice.

Thank you for ending the year on a "slick" note.

Helen, this is an exquisitely beautiful and warm tribute to all of us.  The only fault I have with it, is that you didn’t include yourself – because you do all these things for all of us too with your very beautiful and sensitive poetry.  I can’t imagine anyone thinking you foolish about anything – or at least no more than any of the rest of us, so none of us could have any room to talk.  I would love to have written this myself, but am glad you did, because you did it so much better than I could have done.  Even though this is a repost from long ago, I hope sincerely that “sadness doesn’t have you in its grips” currently, and if it does, I am glad you came to the blue pages, because, as you said, this is where all the healing you spoke about takes place.  Thank you for your art and heart poem.

Such adoration. You sate the restless spirit with your words, 1slick_lady.

Whew! Helen this is a powerful write!

Words yep, I know what you mean. I think you have them all but I have to be honest I don't think I could live up to them......
The reason we all try. Some of us beyond the words.

Way beyond 2011 you have a wonderful life!
