Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Let it go
they say
as if it were
a winged thing
within our grasp
awaiting to fly
away with our pain
if we but loosed our grip

Let me go
I say
as if it were
a clawed thing
within its grasp
trying to pry
away from the pain
if I but loosed it's grip

Thanks, this made me think...  Addicted to issues of life. Others think we can brush away our pains... But we know differently!

Great double image here, Lori. A true Catch-22 if we allow it to be, and sometimes we have no choice in the matter.

To mimic is a form of praise unless
you have no thoughts of your own

I think, pain needs to be absorbed in order to be tolerated ... no-one ever lets go of pain ... it stays with us and every now and then, given the right circumstance, usually a quiet time, it will resurface ...

I believe pain defines who we are, how we handle the hard times...and letting it go, orchastrates change...some are adverse to change, which only makes life much more difficult...and to, if you really love someone, the greatest gift of love you can bestow is to let them go and be who they were meant to be...life evolves, and so must we, otherwise we are stuck in a maze...or in the claws of life...

very well done...

Jerry, Rex & LeeJ,
I thank you for your in depth comments...you showed me more than what I wrote.
