Here you go Sunshine . . . Don't know for sure if I captured her essence she is so elusive.

<><><>

I encircle my arms around Seawillow's allure
clasp her hand within both of mine
bring it to my cheek
the world ceased to move
a quietness has invaded my thoughts
the violent crashing of the waves made no sound
instead brings sachet fragrance unto my senses
the moon, a harvest one
nearly touches the water
dances on the waves foamy crest
I erased her distant smile
with kisses meant to disarm her lethal charm
ah, but Seawillow
cannot be beguiled so easily
she will be the one
to choose the time and the how

Seawillow
named from the waters' deep
queen of Davy Jones' locker
bows only to Neptune
God of the sea
willow finishes her name
from will-o-the-wisp
giving fair warning
to all who would posses her
of her unattainable and utter elusiveness
she appeared to me one day
back in Savoie's Swamp
as a shimmering, hovering light
beckoning me with estrogen-charged mist

I am her toy
yes, yes
of this I am aware
to sup from her mysterious gaze
I gladly give my life
for that is Seawillow's quest
another mortal
to be sent below
where the brine and baubles lie
she . . .
she accepts my lips
pressed down upon hers
then
pushes away from me
a groan in her throat
run, she said, flee from this place
instead I step toward her
she clasps her hands o'er her breasts
a lonely tear smears her frozen face

Go away, please, my darlin'
I'll come to you in a fortnight

am I dreaming
am I insane
has the one I'm smitten with
above any other
just said to me . . .
I'm fearful of interpreting her words
but I am her toy
so
I turn around
began the long walk with a questioning heart
back to Savoie's Swamp

You've started an epoch...there will be many more stories of Seawillow, I'm sure...

follow her, for elusive though she be, she has many gifts yet to unfold.

Ahh...it will be Christmas, every day!

Thank you, Jerry!

Thanks, Sunshine, yeah I'm kinda feeling my way here. Have a few thoughts to decipher concerning the ode, epic, whatever. Appreciate the gentle shove toward "the rest of the story."

Hi Lori. Good to see you here and thank you for the nice compliment. Yes, we all need a little sunshine from time to time.

Thanks Rex for the encouragement. I have three different projects going at once here, but I'll be revisiting Seawillow soon.

Yes, the fatal attraction does seem to titillate  us, doesn't it? Who know what the poor guy who has yet to have a name will find in the fortnight.

Thank you, Margherita , for being here.
