I really wish I hadn't even wrote this poem, much less posted it. After a couple of hours and me rereading it, it comes off like I am whining, and I didn't mean for it to be. This would be a good time to be able to delete your poem.

I asked for this poem to be deleted, but I am sure my request got lost in the hustle and bustle of Christmas emails, so I just took it off myself. Sorry if anyone clicked on here to read it.

It would be nice, Sir,
if your wishes could come true...

There were several Christmases...and
other holidays, that we would invite
"first timers" in the service to our
home [away from home] so that they might
not miss their families oh so very much...

and I'm sure, Jerry, that over time, you've
grown to know it is better to give, than
receive...I know, because you share your
poetry oh so well.

Merry Christmas, Jerry.

Jerry...Christmas can bring emotions that most days forget...a time when loved ones are missed and the true meaning of a gift, is unwrapped and questioned.  Your rump roast sounds yummy and I've found many friends exist in the warm purr of a computer. You are one of them.  Merry Christmas!

Sunshine, of course I grew enough that I understood the meaning of giving and receiving. I was speaking of when I was a small boy. Children are self-centered, at least I was. Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie. Haha

Thank you for taking me to task anyway. Yuk. Yuk.

Thanks Martie I appreciate your kind thoughts. And I understand about the warm purr of the computer, I count you as one of my friends also.

I hope you and Zoe enjoy your dinner.
I'm not religious, in an orthodox sense, either but I enjoy the Christmas season because I enjoy giving. Actually receiving isn't so bad either.

Silly young man...I wasn't taking you to task...but you did bring to mind my daughter's plaintive "mother, what am I going to do with these boys?" comment just days ago...and I didn't raise boys, but I like the way you turned out.
