Morning I wake and open my lids
Stirred by the song of a finch
I look through my window, past trees and a river
Relishing in every inch
Trees are ablaze with hues of fall
Rippling waters lick the shore
Critters scurry here and there
My, oh, my the stuff of lore
Mesmerized, I turn my eyes
Glancing at the clock
Time has flown and I must rise
To comb my hair and fasten my frock

I leave the house
Walk to school
Read my books
Attend a class
I take some notes
Pack my things
Ready to retire at last

Soon I arrive home and consider my day
As I slice and butter a roll
And recall that I’ve gone about all of my business
Without speaking to a soul

Tonight when I look through my window again
Staring back is a landscape so bare
My sorrows transform this once-magical view
With which I have no one to share

Another excellent write. Hard to believe you haven't been doing this for a while. Loneliness can certainly suck, but there have been times when it was nice to not just talk to anybody. To walk through the day and let the world do the talking. Hope the view improves in time. Peace.
