I will always savor the brims of those old highways
rough edged like hounds with well used paws
that still want to lay down lazy beside a tree
and explore the sun with their eyes closed

leaning my metal onto her swing away elbow,
bionic I suspect for bars where she sips her whiskey
or at least in my mind she would prefer strong drink
as she waits for my oblivion to accomplish boredom

so we can elope together again another dozen times
and press our ends of nudity through the winds
along familiar grooves worn by crippled echoes
and round curves she takes like aphrodisiacs

while I just hang on by the heart beating my man skins

Taking on the recollection, or perhaps musing about what could be was good fodder for street level poetical story-telling. I know I enjoyed it, DS, as you took it to the limit.
