       the Grand Immensities

A few flame trees still burn bright
across this silvered Autumn river,
where against the grey November skies
   a lone raven flies
along the cruelest edge of night
   and Winter,
as fears and mixed emotions rise
in memory-ripple dance
among the grand immensities
of love, and loss, and time.

Yes indeed, b.e., "love, and loss, and time." Three of the immensities which cause us so much pain in the long run. Nice write.

Very nice, here... I enjoyed not only the message, but the music...euphony, rhythm. Wonderful!

This speaks to me in the softest breath, the mixed emotions, the ripple dance, and especially the love and loss and time.

You move me every time, dreampoet~

"a lone raven flies
along the cruelest edge of night
and Winter" captured the moment perfectly. Fine writing, Bruce.

It is humbling to read a poet, a master of the provocative/evocative image! The presence of the highest transcendence sweep over me in a calming and sobering way. Much applause!

Bruce~~ love, loss, and time~~ I just came back from a too short visit with my Mom in Tenn.
Happy, sad, scared of the future: so many emotions when I once thought this would be the calmest, warmest  period of a life.

Wishing you a warm and "tasteful" Thanksgiving.

and luv
