It's amazing to me that seeds can fall so far away from the tree and grow in yonder valley red leaves instead of green. The wind was never that violent or the storms outrageously fierce and there was no sea to carry the seed on currents no one could see. The roots of the tree sunken down deep thought it had done enough to stabilize the foundation from which the seeds could spring. And the tree, of course, was confident, sure, the drop to ground would grow green leaves and the trunk would be according to the standard set by very old trees. But there are red leaves in yonder valley and the trunk has set a new standard that precludes the production of seeds that again would fall far from the tree. From green to red, from red to none, and soon the valley barren and dead! Helen |

This reminds me of a song by the name of :The Giving Tree," written by Shel Silverstein and sung by Bobby Bare. It was beautiful and so is this, both in a sad, strange way. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |

Love how you treated this subject, dear Helen, though the ending really makes me melancholic! Nature can't stop reproducing itself, unless men disturb the existing balance... Love, Margherita |

Thanks Jerry and Margherita. Where have you been, Margherita? You have been missed on this pages of blue. I reckon man does upset the balance both outwardly and inwardly. Helen |

Very interesting presentation Helen. I find it very thought provoking in style. I might even refer to it as a unique inner concern for a tender overview. Good stuff! Eric |

I guess some trees just aren't made to bear fruit. Sad, but true. Your mind, however, is a beautiful garden. Thank you for the stroll. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |
