The faintest thread that ere can be
extends between the you and me
and it works its magic hauntingly
before the break of dawn.

It’s made to wind around the neck
and suffocate the freedom code
set on pages one to three
of the independence charter.

Threads breathe and procreate the feel
of what once was meaningful
in the grandiose scheme behind the scenes
of life as known today.

One day the threads will break and split
from the core that made them be
and I see the panic stations
overfilled with human woe.

Perchance one day that core will move
and reach for what was lost
but would freedom bow out gracefully
or resist the need again to be
tied one unto each other?

Trains will come, they always do,
with threads and stays and … pepper sprays
to tie us to the tracks
of blind trust and unity!

Ah, these threads which bind us are stronger than steel manacles. Sometimes we wonder how it can sustain, without breaking, the onslaught which is called love. Like this write.

Leaves me pondering about those threads. Enjoyed this.

Hello Hellen...Haunting and engaging, the thought of what holds one person to another.  Sometimes it feels so good that it's worth the many ways it feels too tight.  I always enjoy your pondering.

Very much enjoyed... quite inspired, eloquent. It reminds me of a poem I wrote before, if I may quote a piece of it?
.
"There is a fiber so minute
so nano-strong
so absolute
and like Arachne` filament
entwines so light
without consent..."  etc.
.
Always enjoy your pen, H

Best~

Thanks everyone - and Amaryllis, you write good poetry.  Sorry you didn't quote the whole poem though.
