Early on I wondered exactly where I was and how it was, I came to be there Cold, dark, humidly gloomy everything one would expect if one expected to be swallowed so Taking stock was simple enough a small space, as living quarters go But roomy, for metaphorical innards Defined, all round, by planks of ribs unformed bunting of shadow and railings about my luck After a time I acquiesced, even embraced my oddest of placements, settling into the rhythm of the beast Learning to move with the swell of the hours, the tides of weeks and the rush of water just outside I counted, recalled and considered I tied and untied every knot I knew and tried on various histories In the end I sat by the woodstove filling notebooks with what may or not be poetry and drank |

Hah! What a pickle you found yourself in wranx. Seems to me that you might have just tried eating your way out, but all is good though. Poetry is it and a bottle of sour mash will help you wash down the ordeal as you transcribe it for those in years to come to ponder, pinch the bridge of their nose and ponder on. . . . and the Raven said, %!~#&(!$! |

At least it is a peaceful habitation, where you can do a fair bit of contemplation and poetic scribbling. I for one truly enjoyed this piece of spindrift. I picture finding it in a bottle washed ashore upon the beach of my deserted island. Thanks for sharing. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |

Hello wranx...great to read you again. The "innards" are as large as your creative imagination and the heart that beats there. I hope you'll share more. |

Many thanks to all of you, for taking the time and the kindnesses. For those that "know" me, it seemed the years and pages spent in that drafty little shack writing my trivialities, needed an Epilogue. This, such as it is, is it. Thanks to all the "new" eyes! And a special thanks to all my old PiP pals! |
