Clouds have usurped the sky And are only lighter shades of the grays The trees have become with bark and lichen Holding the few russet leaves that have not Grown restless with the wind November weights the moon Till she tilts her head in sigh Then slips on the gauze she wears when modesty Demands the reveal of lovers skin be left To private eyes and slow of open hands October ends in anemic rain Two miles below Taylor’s Ford The Blue settles into a long stretch of languid Wearing the glitter of fallen reds That fails to hide the subtle tones of skin As she stretches along her bed But for the wind one can stay warm enough To remember how she used to sigh murmured syllables Against the thigh as she caressed the tired of soul In a seduction of hymns sung quietly within The throat she bared to fingertips I held her then But the span between thumb and tip of little finger for my hand can not cover the distance between the soft round sound of vowels and the gap as exists from one precipice of reality to the dreams of fairy tale Yet It fits well on the clavicle where it might rest contently as connection between thoughts of her so hidden within the parsecs of time and the now I try to hold in delicate balance Perhaps no divine spark is pictured by outstretched hands and all that exists beyond the moment is the one to follow the hole left in us all when as leaves we turned shades of winter and fell from some grace or the palms of broken ends Would I that the distance were not so great and the fall so filled with cold That I could feel the warmth of her again But this month ends in languid rage As November waits the moon’s passing nude And grey usurps the sky Leaving me restless with the wind Until I drift into Thoughts Of you [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (10-31-2010 12:24 PM).] |

Your gorgeous words caressing the Blue with such passion makes a woman wish she was that river to have such words devoted to her. It is a beautiful dream you share with us. Thank you. ebm |

Muses are a fickle lot... seems they desert you or are like a bad rash and leave you scratching at paper all the time. Not much happy in between... thanks for looking in ma'am... wishing you warm as well... we're in for a hard freeze tonight they say, so goes the warm.... |
