Like a flower

So, here I am again
in this dim poetic light
a little blank verse
for a momentarily blank heart

a man that tried to move on
to another woman,
that knew knew she was just a replacement,
would always be second best

and why settle for what the heart did not feel
Why should a man settle for less?

a matter of availability
blown with a bad stroke of the pen
and seemingly so silly sensation reaction
to a compliment given in a poorly conceived way

A man gets what he deserves
for trying to force his heart
to go astray.

And so again in the green golden scented candle glow
I can only hope friendship and fondness for a fool like me
by the best girl, with a tender heart, will continue to grow...
