I Probably Won't Make It |

It's been thirteen days and it will be ten more. I want to say I'll make it even though I'm on the floor crawling, bawling, sprawling, scrawling love poems that keep me sore. See, it's low fifties now at night and this kind of cold gets to the bone. I don't think I can take it, still, I will say I'll make it, even though I'm dying here alone. I try not to think about you or look at pictures for long. But the tinge of desperation lingers and pounces upon my fingers as I turn a poem into a song. I suppose that's the reason I busted the guitar. I just couldn't take it, probably won't make it very far. |

Solitude in fall adds to the melancholy of nature's performance. You write so intensely, dear Dixie. Of course you are going to make it. Always walk for a while in the sun when it comes out, it will brighten your day, while you wait. Love, Margherita |

Of course you will make it, get wrapped up and get out into the weather and wilderness and describe what you see, give us the window on your world. We can see by poems such as this that you can write great poetry, now transform the outside to the the inside..of our brains and tell us the changing colours, the wind, the sky, water, the sounds, the touch, the taste, let us visualise your world, then stand back and admire your masterpiece....thanks for this one... good advice...even on my darkest days a sudden low burst of sunlight,a tiny bird singing, a late butterfly is a great pick me up. A great poem, thanks for sharing. |

Nice poem and I think that you will probably make it given some time. Hang in there. |

Dixie girl...cold...and heat can make people crazy stupid. But you still beat the sound of those sensations into a good poem! |
