“The victors write the histories,” Is what I have heard said. No interviews from losers, Or comments from the dead: When writing from perspective- On the vagaries of life… Of contradictions there’s no shortage, Wrong conclusions, they are rife. So I cannot help but wonder how… In perhaps a hundred years- Will posterity regard our time, As a comedy of fears? Environmentalists are screaming, And the “Hawks” are crying, “War!” And the troops out in the desert… Wonder what their fighting for- The virologists are tweaking- All their precious little germs, And the politicians’ rhetoric- Is ambiguous in terms. It is simply off the charts now- Our nations’ deficit… And moral obligations, Are so very seldom met… “Much knowledge doth bring madness-“ Just as ignorance is bliss… So the moral of this monologue- Is “Accept life as it is.” |

"Much knowledge doth bring madness Just as ignorance is bliss." A true pearl of wisdom from this wise and accurate portait of today's world. Ida |
