Each time you've looked at me,
I felt loved.
To be precise, I should say
that I felt loved as much as I loved,
when our eyes met:
Bright sparkles of joy,
warm and gentle rays of elation,
lighthearted  smiles,
happiness, bliss, exhilaration
- all the feelings I had
were conveyed on your face.

I couldn't imagine
that usually you wear
another expression,
until much later;
I saw your portrait
in a different light:
The mist of sadness in your eyes
and the shades of pain
around the corners of your mouth
- how come
I did not see them earlier?

So many times you've told me, too,
that happiness makes me beautiful...
It is hard not to be beautiful
in such way anymore;
Is it hard for you too, my love?

I breath the air of hope
(which is my life support)
and I pray
that in the future
we will look at each other
and our faces will light,
time and again.
Till then, on some days
I'll miss you and I'll cry
inconsolably;
same as I did today.

Touching write. I hope things work out for the protagonist(s). Such sadness is often a sign of a need for positive reinforcement stimulation.

Thank you, you are very kind. I changed the poem somewhat, because I couldn't look at it. Sorry about that.
