No matter what happens,
there will always be a Bones
in the street.

He’s a permanent fixture,
and nothing can be done about it.

You may not see him,
but he is there,
he is there.

Bobby

There's also a little Bones inside of us all.

I need to express the hope, that life conditions will improve for all little children in the world who live mostly on the streets with all the consequences that this brings along.

But then I would also consider that people like Bones in a certain way have the advantage to learn very early what true compassion is. I also agree with all the foregoing comments.

Love,
Margherita

Thanks Balladeer,

That is very true.  There is  perhaps a little of all of us in everyone of us.

Thanks Yann,

I'm happy that you find truth in what I write.  That's a very kind thing to say.

Thanks dear Margherita,

Some street people do learn a lot about compassion.  They will be helpers.

The street people that don’t learn about compassion, they will be hurters.

... forest from the trees... a part of the landscape if you will. Hopefully Bones will never become so common a sight as to be completely lost from view. Peace.

I was once a city gent up that way. I used to walk or bike through some pretty declined neighborhoods upon occasion. For years I was ignored; later was solicited as a potential contraband customer. Then I stopped touring those neighborhoods, after some despicable assaults, murders and such took place there.

I hear or read that some of those old places are better now, and some are not.

Thanks Bobby for this gentle reminder, and to Earl for the long-delay bump.

There is an old proverb about building your house upon sand and it washing away and building your house upon stone so it stays. People like Bones are the stones that we should all build our hopes, dreams and ambitions on, for they teach us humility.
