before women had wings, she said
they were trees along that brim
there where heaven reaches down
and touches the seams of sky and ground

I mostly nodded I guess, without reply
my lips and beard were stuck on a smile
like it was not fully developed yet
just kind of getting around to full grown

and men would just climb us for sport
or cut us down and stack us around
so they could brag to other men
about their collections of splinter chips

I mostly nodded I guess, without reply
just getting around to full groan
like it was not fully developed yet
my eyes and heart were stuck on her smile

and the beguilement of her wooden wings

I just watched a clip from somewhere (duh, India?) I dunno.

This 12 yr. old young lady appeared to be squeezing crystals out of her eyes.

I didn't care if it was real or not, I loved the poetry of it....her reluctance to cry reminded me of your wooden reluctance to fly?

(I could be way off, but you seem like the indulgent type...)

Now sir, you mix elements of wood and wing..of women and myth with sensuality...
this is good stuff sir..and the series,
masterful.

An interesting take on things not being fully grown, such as the smile that you mentioned.  I guess I won`t look on growth in quite the same way from now on.
