Camouflage I move from day to day without A single qualm or distant doubt That it is I who died that day, The moment that you went away. Though outward tears may seem controlled, They never stop, if truth be told, They build behind the smile I share That sits upon the mask I wear. They join the light behind my eyes, Another thinly veiled disguise, To blind the world from hurt that grows Within this shell of mortal woes. /Kit McCallum |

Kit, ma'am... your offering portrays I think the "face" so many put on loss.. the hurt doesn't really go away..we put the facade on top and rarely tell the truth underneath.. I enjoyed the talent..and understand the content... well done ma'am... well done... always nice to read your offerings... [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (08-19-2010 02:30 PM).] |

This "camo" and "cameo" doesn't quite fit the photo, my dear... but of course, you writing always perseveres. ...whether you need them, or not. |

Kit, your poetry flows like a nightgowned lady moving from room to room by candlelight. Your emotions saturate every word and my thoughts are with you. |

Thank you so much everyone for the lovely words and the kind thoughts. They are like receiving a warm hug through cyber space, and I truly appreciate it. |

I know the camouflage you wear, I wear it too, and wouldn't dare Remove it, as it hides my fears Connection severed, causes tears. The very best that we can do Is turn to others for our glue. I am thankful and I pray I can turn to you - on any day. |

Your poem has lingered with me since you posted it. It's beautifully crafted and i,t even more beautifully, expresses the faces and emotions we too often hide. Thank you, Kit. Thank you for sharing your work with us. Alison |

I think we've all worn that mask a time or two. Well written in form and substance. Peace. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |
