Of course
she never told me
it would be out last kiss,
for if she had
perhaps I would have tried
to make it last
a little longer,
lingering within the pleasure
of the middle of the kiss,
prolonging the contact,
breathing in her essence,
savoring the taste
of that kiss.
Come to think
of it,
I did.

This made tears come to my eyes. The past year or so those thoughts have been going through my throughts. They are hard thoughts to banish.
