I shall make you drink the capinrinha The water of the pigmented memories, This lime which surprises you As a hand stretched out towards pleasure, Water of the sun, wash my mind, This cachaca apre and irascible Made to forget the salt of the round mines and the pain of deep sky mines, This syrup of sugar cane Pressed in the colonial lies, I shall make you drink until the drunkenness, I shall make you drink the capirinha Above your hurt horizons, I shall make you drink until Your life is naked as the fire, Until you burn down in my heart As a raft accosting a country new island, water of sun, washes me, I shall make you drink the warm capirinha . |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caipirinha Avast! Everything from drunkenness to hungover colonial guilt, from sugar cane stubble burning to hints of malarial delirium here. Thanks. Slightly depressing subject, but a good write and read! |
