Thread the tangled waves of your midnight curls, where tender dreams are netted and shook free, as my trembling fingertips trace a path of scars to the cradle of your breast. Beneath the rise of flesh your heart echoes and I submit to kneel in silent petition while laurel leaves adorn your feet. For a decade I was adrift as a vagrant upon anarchic seas, now I am yearning to dwell in the hollows of your chest, to weave an olive branch aviary and perch among your murmurs of desire. I'd lay siege to your garden of slumber and breach its gate of polished horn, so I may wake clutched in your embrace for a final chance at an eternal dawn. |

Very beautifully composed, this work. Some of the lines resonate with me more than others, yet the effect of the whole is powerful. I did have to look up the Daphne & Apollo story remedially, though. |
