Age is not always a function of years Sometimes, age is gauged by actions The number of years a person lives is age But the actions of a person mean more than years Sometimes we make mistakes with consequences It’s easy to blame others and take the easy way out It’s hard to make choices that are painful But some choices have to be made So don’t look at her and see a child She is a woman in all but years She has learned the hardest lesson there is to learn Sometimes we have pain when we do the right thing |

Jenny is a child in years, but she has endured things that no one should have to endure. She was raped, beaten badly, became pregnant, and is giving the baby up for adoption. I admire her spirit and courage in going forward. |
