She stared at him With her small wrists Like little olive branches Brazing the wind. His eyes calmly sat, Sifting through the paper, August at his back, She leaned over And smelled the back of his neck His breathes gently paced Crossing his legs as he turned the page, Her oval mouth against his skin Her slight cough, a winters grin She reached for his hand, Like the gallop of the night Sitting so still, They fell into each other, Until their lips stayed, just a little longer. |
