with that khaki dirt on your shoulders
you could be a much more lovely highway
if you just left less to the imagination

men wouldn't sneak up on your curves
and act surprised when you threw them down
and used them like a rash to scratch

lovers wouldn't pull off into your secrets
and make secrets of their own so often
like those you speak of to the windy mornings

the proper girls wouldn't say you were edgy
when they keep their bimmers away from knowing you
lest you key their sides with slide stones

but I couldn't love you if you were more lovely

D, I've only been on a "bike" twice in my life and only on a short ride...we have those country highways here that would make it a pleasure to be on one again...if only.

You and the road, you on the road, you spilling the secrets of the road so generously, wow!

Fantastic job.

Margherita

I think I remember this from before.... and if not, it simply so familiar it seems that way...

a memorable piece sir...and you personify well the road while playing with the metaphor...to be envied...

could be sir... she sounds familiar and like any number of roads I have skirted past
the slides and her narrow soulders to get to her beauty...

anjoyed the piece...and the talent sir.

Yes, it's great to see the roads through your eyes. Your "Lady" sounds like a ride that shouldn't be missed. Ever been to Deals Gap or Cherohala Skyway? This poem reminded me so much of those sweeping curves and switch-backs.

Nice lean-words you pen for us, D. Always.

ms wood...thanks for the eyes lady..nice to see you dance by from time to time.  This area is some of the old hollywood hills countryside with mulholland and decker and some of the other roads...one lane so narrow you can see your own tail lights on the curves.  Have not visited the paths you speak of that I am aware of.
