I never would have seen you
if I hadn’t looked through
the opposite end
of the kaleidoscope.

But there you were
alone
your skin aglow
in a rainless storm
of sherbet wind
and rainbow hail,
with black holes for eyes
and eyelids for lies
you saw every fear
like my tears
were in braille.

Why is it your breath
smells like home
and your whispers,
taste like laughter?

I love how you lips
wink at me
as your tangerine tongue
paints on my cheek
tracing out poems
in each other’s mouths
as vanilla marshlands
begin misting
from your skin.

Lay on me my love
and massage your heart
with mine,
as I steer through your curves
and impale the sky.

Drink me honey
as our passion intertwines,
this is where our waiting
finally, dies.

Open your gates
and fill my lungs.
your swelter is
my breath.

Drown me love
you are my life
you’re heaven
before death.
