Each day I rise as one who greets the dawn With renewed hope, when pain is tempered by The slumber’s balm and sorrow’s grip is drawn Away from heavy breast; hushed is the sigh That seeks surcease from secret inner vow - But no reprieve in solitude I find - For heavy thoughts of you do crease my brow And heart betrays the fixture of my mind - Oh, to forget! - But such a sought release A barter I am but too ill to trade; No magic potion can be drunk to cease The spell, no trick to make thine image fade: Then dwell in my heart, ever be my guest - For I fear not the pain, dread not the quest. Forget-Me-Not /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=100&topic=002239 "I Love you, truely-do not forget me!" These were the words, the last words, the knight had said to his lady. It is the the legend behind, the modern day bright blue flower, delightful, if sad, true tale, One day, a knight in armor, and his lady, went walking by a river, the lady spied, some pretty blue flowers, by the water. The Lady admired them, the knight, went to pick them for her, alas his armor unbalanced him, He tumbled into the cold water, still clutching the flowers in his hands, slowly as he went under, For the third and last time, he threw his flowers to his love, crying-Forget-me-not!. |

passing shadows - thank you for reading and commenting ARH - sad story indeed, hopefully a legend, not a true story... CG |
