As I lie here, In my bed, I can’t help but wonder, Who I am. Who am I? What do I do? What do I look like? These things that most people take for granted, I can honestly say, That I don’t know. My life is still not found. So, I do what I do, And I hope that I will. “Will what?” you might ask. Well, I hope that I’ll fall in love, And bring meaning to their life. I hope that I live my life With that one person. Because, they will open my eyes, To a whole New World. And then, maybe, I will be able to know Who I am. |

zeus - Sometimes we must also look at who we are not which will reveal as much about us as we hope to discover who we are from falling in love with someone else. Love blossoms from what you bring to it as much as what you take from it. I like the enquiry here about who we see in the mirror. We've all been there at one time or another. Hang in there zeus. Enjoyed. Namyh |

The great Indian sage Sri Maharashi suggests that, as a spiritual exercise, we continually ask "Who am I?" without expecting an answer to the question. So, you see, your poem touches age-old Indian wisdom. |
