there were those moments like cards there as she played her final few hands turning the minutes face up and smiling as if she knew she could win by ending we spoke of her man of the fish place time and how she could see him now at her windows when she closed her eyes for those dreams the ones that the morphine gave her many of she said she didn't want to leave her children but they had already been gone for days and she guessed it didn't matter to miss them since they were strangers to a sleeping widow she wondered how I knew about this, her final hour and when to show up to take her hand for comfort so I could guide her over to the other side where her man of the fish place would be waiting and did I think he would still take her dancing ______________ daark |
