My Jewel Why? What happened at the end of the volley I was left shouting words flew like stones, and got more words to fly and I felled the crystal that was me – the idea that grew in your mind suddenly words ceased your silence directed at me, cried a loss Why we flew, what we threw do silly things matter? but the rhythm was almost shocked to death And then it kicked the instinct in me what I needed was crystal clear we don’t need no treacly tears I don’t need a kiss from you but a word I’m all too human to live of food and water and air alone if I hadn’t got your love and care I’d have died long ago so just utter a word Your word’s a soother that makes me cry Sire, I’m your whelp Am happy, a little bit of your bite is mine, and when we would be gone you would linger in me we would still have the cadence, of love Now, don’t worry about your crystal the idea that spilled from your mind I picked up myself I am my jewel Live Life! |

You write original and expressive love poems. In this one I particularly like "words flew like stones" and the crystal metaphors -- very appropriate to the topic. And , yes, I think "silly things" do matter more than we think. Thank you so much for your comments on my work. |
