Some people light up the room
with their very presence,
bestowing on their fellow guests
laughter, joy and pleasance
while some offer not even a smile
because they have nothing to say.
Others who are simply shy
just try to stay out of the way.
There are the gossips and the drama queens,
the pranksters and the drinkers,
that compulsive person who always cleans,
the watchers and the thinkers.
We have those who agitate
and those who restore the calm,
those who speak their minds
to all...without a single qualm.
One with an agenda
another looking for the exit,
the loud, the quiet, the tired
just hoping for a respite.
Bless those who are tactful, considerate and kind,
as they are becoming harder to find.
For sitting at every party table
there's that one who makes you happy to know
that human's are biodegradable.

this 'write' is particularly fine (and absolutely accurate)! ...

"Bless those who are tactful, considerate and kind,
as they are becoming harder to find."  ...

sad, but all too true!

great ending lines in particular !

MUCH applause for this 'penning' !!

Thank you, Steaven, Though I do enjoy participating I think I am basically a "watcher" too. (obviously)
Thank you Bruce and Dixie and I do think we are suffering from a lack of civility these
days.
yann, why would you be looking for the exit when you have such a charming personality?
I wrote this after carefully observing the guests at a party I attended last Saturday.

Most Excellent! Your last line was perfect! As a good friend of mine says, "I hate humanity... I like people, but hate humanity."

"We'll chase them like rats across the tundra."

Yo dear Ida,

I think it’s important to try and avoid categorizing people.  It's a waste of energy.

No offence, Bobby but I usually do as I please with my own energy.

Ida, your poem is delightful and displays your excellent observation skills, as do so many of your poems.  And your last line, well that was the pièce de résistance (along with your delicious reply to Bobby - no disrespect to you, Bobby, either)and gave me a good giggle!  I too, love analysing people and situations.  I saw myself in several of your descriptions, but the one that fits me best, I think, is a thinker.

Really loved this.I saw a lot of myself in different descriptions. As I grew older I changed my demeaner, but once in a while the old shy me pops in. I guess it all depends on the mix of the group. A good hostess knows how to invite enough people who can mix well together.Love this post Ida. thanks, jo/latearrival

Hello good morning, this poem I guess for me, made no sense at all.  The rhetoric is blah.  Maybe you have some points but overall the poem is meaningless.  I think it can improve on structure, and content.

I felt unmoved and depressed when I read this.

Thanks for listening to me.

Thank you all for reading and commenting.
I try to write on different subjects and though some of them may not appeal to everyone, I just try to avoid becoming a one-trick pony.

Dear Ida, it is a delight to read. I think that is one of your best, most enjoyed.
Take care love
