Soupe de Pommes Someone help me figure out why I’m always searching for parts of the whole. Like the four letter word that ends with e that makes the crossword puzzle of being now complete Or the roots of a hearty french soup that make rhyme and season with thyme and reason. The poetry of love, is like a good soup isn’t it? It has to have balance and harmony, the right texture and slurpability. I mean what fun is a bowl of soup with the whole kit and kaboodle if it doesn’t make you laugh when you slurp down the noodle. You ever notice at the store that the, Soup for One, is seven aisles away from the Party Mix ? Yeah, exactly thanks for reminding me. They say you can’t live on soup alone. That’s a lie. I would gladly eat nothing but soup every day if it would only mean that I wouldn’t have to eat it alone. Maybe I’ll make some, heart soup for Valentine’s Day. Should I go with the beef or the lamb? I feel like I'm gasping for air so maybe I’ll go with the artichoke hearts instead. Like always, I’ll have to eat it by myself but maybe it will stick to my ribs and soak through to my own heart. It feels a little light today for some reason. Maybe because my heart was born with a big hole in it. That’s the real part of the whole I’ve been looking for all along, remember? But what’s the use, no matter what I write or make or who, I even meet it just stays the same, it just stays, the same. Hollow and forgotten. I'll tell you what if you want I’ll even throw some rabbit in the pot. How else are we going to be able to say, there was a hare in our soup. Sometimes laughter is all we have left. And maybe a bowl of potatoe and broth that bites my tongue, just right. |

I'm a soup kinda guy and you have whetted my appetite for venturing out into the wonderful world of undiscovered soup de jour. Gotta love it. ~ Some people are like a Slinky -- not really good for anything -- but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs. ~ |

Richy...it is good to read you again. Why men go for soup...I will probably never understand. I do know why my spouse does...but I won't tell him, yet. ![]() Maybe it is because soup is a cure-all from times past. Maybe. [This message has been edited by Sunshine (02-09-2011 06:35 PM).] |

Hi Richy...I love soup...the hand made kind with good home grown chopped vegetables. I like it because it's flexable and varient. Hot or cold depending on the weather, for instance...but it's hard to make just a little. I'll bet the soup you make is delicious; but you're right, eating alone is no fun no matter what you're eating. |

Thanks JerryPat, nothing like something hot and nutritious right? Nice to meet you. Hi Karilea, yes, women go for soup too right? Chicken soup alone can cure about anything can't it? Thanks for stopping by! |

Martie, Martie... funny we made soups last night in class... we made roasted chicken and gnocchi dumpling soup, fish soup with thai fish sauce, lemongrass, cilantro, chiles, galangal, fish stock and coconut milk and kaffir leaves, we made split pean with ham, and beef and barley... yes, it is good on these cool winter nights. In the summer we make gazpacho, and fruit soups like honeydew with a splash of sherry. Yes, soup was made to be eaten by at least two, but never, alone. Thanks for your nice comments, its always special to hear from you! Hugs Richard ![]() |

The placement of the party mix and soup for one doesn't work for me. ![]() This made me feel a bit sad and just a little pensive. Just make enough for two would you, never know who might be craving something hot! Hugs you~ |

Ahhh good Sir, you've cooked up a mighty fine broth here. Thank you for a most excellent meal... which I enjoyed with a bed of rice and a can of Chunky. Your's was most certainly the superior. By the way... Have you ever read The Tale of Despereaux? Forget the movie... read the book. Soup plays a major role in mending broken hearts. Peace. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |

Andrew I think I would have preferred the chunky myself, even if it was the peanut butter... thats much more feeling and nourishing... thanks anywho, a little soup is always good for what ails you, yes. Thanks friend! Richard |

Like the four letter word that ends with e that makes the crossword puzzle of being now complete You know I had visions of vegetable soup with the word, Life, floating around in it. I have to tell you as one who knows the difference between being lonely and being alone, this caused an ache for those that have not yet found out the difference. I create wonderful dinners for one, and sometimes do have exactly that - potage pour un, and enjoy the great company. ![]() |

Mysteria, that is a lovely vision, yes, you do know the secret of being, alone, don't you. Sometimes the best company is ourselves. Thank you dear friend! Richard ![]() |
