The Door To Love The door to love, gone past it's prime Should be closed. The memories alone should keep that love alive. End it, before the embers die. If you should need to leave, or say goodbye Do not be distraught. For I have harvested memories so grand, That they alone will sustain me, And leave me with smiles and sparkling eyes. I would never be alone, For I have memories to call upon. A gift to me from you. jo perry February 200 |

This is such a sweet poem. Yes, always keep that door open. My door is almost closed but I am trying to keep hope alive. When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |

This is one of the most beautiful poems I've ever read. I'm so honored that you would post it in answer to one of my poems. Somehow, saying thank you seems inadequate. I do thank you though for this most wonderful honor. There must be a poem in here somewhere. [This message has been edited by faithmairee (02-02-2011 12:01 AM).] |

Thank you for the very nice replies. Faithmarri, you touched me, so I went looking in my files because you reminded me of this.It was written for three people in my life.My husband who died of cancer,a best woman friend who I missed and was fighting cancer and someone who was there for me for a while when I needed him most. Accept the love while you have it and the memories will always remain to bring back at a moments notice. |
