called him elmer to his face usually or mc'crotchity ‘e' more often when he was trying to line up his favors to exchange for some sipping jack dan or a twenty dollar seegar for pleasure to make his lung cancer get angry he would say between coughing and the geezusdammit hope I die upstairs so the coinner boy has to carry me down and get his roids all a burnin', he'd grin turned in expenses for needs and such trimmed the fallout in his hair brush with nail clippers, called it a haircut worth fifteen down at the style and dye or a pint of gentleman jack and some gum county never questioned his enthusiasm when keeping his books or filing claims said he knew the governor by the first name and carved him ducks from pine wood logs left them at his cabin during the holidays he never knew gov was dead, or I was his son ______________ daark (highway series, highway 155 north of woody town) |

Ah, yes indeed -- the crusty old gentleman (he's probably knock some teeth out of my mouth if her heard me call him a gentleman -- put an image in my mind of some of the characters Jack Palance play as he grew older. thanks jp...this guy was a bit of "fuzzy jones" but around 250 pounds...rode a fatboy that always had mud all over it.. |
