A hungover moon pins the pale sky straining for voice in the predawn opulence where all that stays etched is the sweat on the nightstand where players collided in lustful contortion i am yours, you are mine particles spun both of sand and of sea soldered as one the wind lifts us through where the earth has forgotten us for now we are strings in God's greatest instrument voiceless yet free while the moon stays the night with us. What a great word/non-word/made-up word is soddered . . . "in the opulence of apathy," is a great line, EmmaRose, and so befitting the mood of today. To be soddered with another, someone to hang onto, someone who will go to bat for you as the world is literally falling apart from within, is a wonderful thing to have gained. Excellent poetry! ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

This poem is very nice, indeed.. it has two aspects that I really enjoyed. I see the moon as a faceless voyeur, the apathy, but straining to feel what the two lovers do. What imagery! |
