I fell to earth that day, as the moon traced a shimmering sky. Listening to the soft and delicate Wandering of a blanketed stream. Absorbing the thud of my heart in the dirt mound That kissed my closed lids. Why, if one has been thought to be as pure as a diamonds glint, as sharp as the cold piercing of the needle that stung and awoke this warrior from a sleep never thought to be never lasting. Why must the fruits of one’s labors be dashed into priceless, useless shards of a once proud heart The sting of a molten tear, travelling a perilous path, wandering aimlessly, waiting for my shame To be cast far away..listening to the delicate heart babbling below the water’s edge as a lonely Tune drifted over the tree tops. And the band played on….Your cheatin H….. |

"Why, if one has been thought to be as pure as a diamonds glint, as sharp as the cold piercing of the needle that stung and awoke this warrior from a sleep never thought to be never lasting." Heartfelt words. And that song sung by so many famous voices would certainly understand your feelings. Nice write. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

What an insightful, heartfelt poem, Barry. It's quietly sad, as we sometimes get during this period of life. Spring will do you good, my friend. Tonic, and all that. It's good to see you home again. |

listening to the delicate heart babbling below the water’s edge as a lonely Tune drifted over the tree tops. Very powerful poetic creation, dear Barry! I am very glad to see you back among us here, dear Poet. Margherita |

I am truly happy to see you here again, too! What I saw in your words, made me swallow hard, and I found myself holding my breath and blinking back tears. There are two kinds of death transpiring at once in these lines. You evoke some strong reactions, and great sadness. I do remember the words to the country song, and went back a few years, too. Jim Reeves, the country gentleman... I used to listen to him a long time ago, and I know the lyrics. |

Why must the fruits of one’s labors be dashed into priceless, useless shards of a once proud heart I don't know, my friend... Neither do I know why our hearts hurt have to hurt so much. But I do know I love seeing your name on the blue pages... and understand every aching word of this beautiful poem! |

Good to see you back, Barry. I am sorry for your pain (if your poem is indeed about you), but you turned it into a work of art which I hope was as cathartic as it is beautiful. Owl |

"I feel to earth that day..." Hitting the ground does hurt, but we get back up again, don't we. Well done, Ms. E |
