There was a desert we use to walk through when the sun came through like the dry heat that stung through the air long curls riding down my shoulder with your arm around my neck father, step by step When the heat reached the Dead Sea you were near me with the salt at our knees you held my head to the sky to the cosmic wonders that rode through the starry sky as we invited ourselves for dinner that night Just you and I the land you buried your feet in when you use to play as the rockets sailed by The place you called home is now mine to follow and the desert feels our skin every time we walk together in the summer wind Father, my eyes come from you. |
