Words and Rain in Terre Haute

Shadowing the sun
rolling clouds darken the sky,

and a distant thunder rumbles with a deep sigh…

Morning doves in the pines
are cooing for summer rain

as the earth too awaits its dew…

The earth thirst for the cooling rain,
and
I await
your fragrance
sweet delicate charm –
us wrapped up together,
arms in arms…

Living simply
in Terre Haute.

Sharing words and rain…

Oh, I know winter is here,
I was just reminiscing,
dear…

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself.
Maranatha!

I like the singy detail of this JL... makes one yearn for the first warm day of the year.  Time is precious though, so I'll not yearn too hard, but maybe just reminisce in the rain with you a bit.  Nice read.

Lovely poem of love and nature, combining those two is a sure-fire winner, and this is a winner big time, JL.

this is almost a lullaby...the roiling clouds though infuse it with passion...and it evolves into so much more than a lullaby~*~lovely~

Beautiful conclusion ... her name is music to your ears and heart.

Thunder and rain give way to a new awareness of peace and joy while they fade in distance.

Enjoyed this.

Oh I do so love storms; and this has a very nice juxtiposition between the largeness of a storm, and the delicacy of the words reserved for the other.  Very, very nice.

Michael, it is kinda singy and my notes seem to always fall flat and way off key.
But, I’ll keep trying.  Thank you sir.

Margherita, yes music to my ears and heart, peace and joy, and yes faded off in the far past and distance.

Nicole, I do enjoy summer storms.  You made the connection, or as you say “juxtaposition” very astute observation by you.  Thank you so much for your very nice reply.

loved this gorgeous write, what added to it was we've just had a wonderful downpour of summer rain & as I read your first couple lines there was thunder sounding in the distance - thanks for sharing this and the wonderful vivid imagery that went with it.

I'm only beginning to reclaim my love of storms after being in a couple of hurricanes scared the skin off my teeth. LOL This reminded me of how rejuvenating they can be... especially when shared. *S* Beautiful work!
