A hug for the present.

Unlikely to ever connect.

At night
As I slumber off to sleep
I misplace myself
Amid this alternative, cyberspace
World spiced to the nth with real-time realities.

We play "let's pretend"
Declare our love for the other.
Sometimes we are bound
To share our love with another,
That, then, is the cost of our kind of amour,
There are countless paths toward a lovers' nest.

Will there be storm clouds on our horizon;
Will we be racked by thunder
Will the snows of tomorrow
Cover our tracks of sinful delight?

I can't promise you
Riches untold
I cannot give you the world
I can only give you love evermore
