Something awoke me with a start,
the book was gone, I was in my bed.
I stumbled to the desk where I'd sat,
searching for that blasted book.
Nothing but loose-leaf paper remained,
I picked them up I began to read.

You have no idea of her fame,
I shan't speak to you of her name.
She is all woman, heart and core,
she comes to you through days of yore.

A good beginning you and her,
But you have to be careful, Sir.
She's pulled from the dark and is free,
She struggled hard to find the key.

Her noble birth is in your hands,
She deserves better than just bland.
Fragile she is; unsteady now,
She recalls many different vows.

Word whispered to be evermore,
Flung like fine china on the floor.
Deuces she held was mostly wrong,
A third try, then you came along.

A balancing act she must try,
You must understand lest she cry.
She remembers the dark days spent,
She's fearful it has left her bent.

Take the love she freely gives you
Give her room to give her heart true.
She thinks you are the one she needs,
Don't let her love turn into weeds.

My hands were shaking, my
eyes stinging from tears.
I dried them and looked for
the book. It was gone forever,
this I knew, and in its place
a blueprint into her heart.

I believe I'm going to make the weekend
all mine, and catch up on all I have
missed...starting with Book I!

Well, as I have said before, you lack nothing in the world of writers.  You grabbed my attention with the graphic, then as I read I was pleasantly surprised.
Loved this line:
"Don't let her love turn into weeds."

Nice Jerry.

That is nice of you, Sunshine. I hope you will enjoy "Our Love" as much as I have writing them.

Looks like the beginnings of a fan club Jerry! No surprises here. Way to go!

Thank you, Lori. Me! A fan club? That would be something. First time using the smilies . . .
