Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

It’s gonna snow tonight
Coming down on the ground
Coming out of the sky
While I eat Goulash
In my house warmly lit
In my house cozy and dry

The tang on my tongue
Tastes delightful and sharp
Tastes delightful and hot
It warms my insides
Courses hot to my veins
Courses hot to that chilled spot

There was a thaw today
Covering ice on the roads
Covering ice on the paths
I think of driving tomorrow
No real need go out
No real need to hurry up fast

Weatherman says there's snow tonight
I’ll just savor my Goulash and write
Stay in my house with fire lit light
Because, you know,

it’s gonna snow tonight

It's raining here... and I'm not complaining because we need it! *S* I was running the AC this morning... now I'm smiling at your evening plans. *S*

Dear Alison, you have my full attention and I am in the mood to taste some fine goulash and to look out the window and watch the snow fall for the whole night ...

I enjoyed this so much, it is totally after my heart, beautifully written and captivating.

Love and warm hugs.

Nice write Alison!  I was just thinking the same thing.
Oh that goulash sounds good.  We have snow and ice right now temp not expected to get above the current 27 degrees today, and tomorrow a repeat performance.  Can you email me a bowl of that goulash?  Heeeheeee....

fine 'slice of life' Impressionism!

unseasonably warm/rainy conditions in these ancient 'endless' mountains of 'ol Applachia.

It nice how snow just reminds us that life "can" wait sometimes... and you seem to have found a way to enjoy those moments to the fullest.  Enjoyable read.

Thank you all.  The Goulash is gone.  The fire is still dancing.  My feet are cold.  My nose is pink.  Temperatures are dipping below -20 tonight.  I am not as in love with winter as I once was.  I have to go plug in  my car.

Would have liked my share of the goulash, along with everyone else!!

Would like to be there just for the photo-ops you'll have - but not all winter .

mmmmm...that goulash sounds good, especially when it's cold. Sounds like you're in for some nasty weather. When I was young I loved the snow, As we get older it seems to loose some of it' charm.
