from afar The pure diamond-frost sparkling in the cold, clear Winter moonlight, the soft, fragrant blossoms floating on a gentle Spring breeze, the flaming wonders of an Autumn forest, the warm, delicious sounds on a Summer evening, all pale in remembering the first bright sting of Love and the loveliest of ladies … I never knew. --- b. e. adams (12/4/2011) [This message has been edited by secondhanddreampoet (12-05-2011 07:10 AM).] |

Sounds like the lovely lady missed out, Bruce. Her absence has produced a great poem though. Ida |

quote: This is one of my memories that will never ever fade ... it is maybe stronger than the first stings of love ... But I understand, this is exquisite, dear Bruce. Love, Margherita |

I have to agree with Ida, someone surely missed out. Wonderful images embraced in your poem. Ms. E |

Lovely, enjoyed! My only critique would be that your seasons are out of order. You go from Spring to Autumn to Summer. ( Sorry I don't mean to be picky.) Just my observation and you can ignor it because it's your poem. Kat >^..^< |

I actually read this a couple different ways; each possibility equally as captivating. I enjoy multiple readings in poems. |

Bruce, I believe that she wants to alleviate the sting, and that she is all around you in the ether, and is no longer afar and is loving you and guiding you. Look to the hills and the lake you both love/d and listen to her and what you never knew will become what you ever know and will warm your Christmas and your days to come. Owl |
