last night my one glass of cheap California burgundy led me down that old familiar road recalling what has gone on before alone I heard the melody of lost days and chances strumming inside my thoughts by a terribly out-of-tune fiddle and guitar once I felt like wailing aloud a lament to what was lost| I didn't wail, no I kept my bearings and myself alone the exposed fear of living an unlife grabs shakes and kicks you in the backside of reality life has depreciated into the waiting game waiting to see which it will be that takes you out stroke; maybe a heart attack whatever it is you'll leave alone ©November 14, 2011 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

Not good being so down. And you are never alone with all the folks here on pages of blue. Best to you, my friend. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

Maybe so, JL, but it has been very quiet here in the blue pages lately, or hadn't you noticed? Appreciate the rah-rah. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

Ok, so here's what we do, because the melodies of your blues are too forlorn to go for long, it's time to sing a blues-wine song! Bring a box of wine, we sing, bring a box of wine! We'll dine on burgers, dogs and fries we'll step to dances, and tell lies, bring a box of wine! Boxes of wine last longer they say, so bring a box of wine! Color it to your wine of the day, but just bring the box of wine! We'll bring Jerry his own box, then dance the jiggers off his sox, we'll be gay and loud and proof he's wrong that he can sit back and sing his song, "it's just one of those days," well, we'll prove he belongs to the one box in the frig nightly throngs! He may glare and he may stare, and he might even sing along, but this will be Jerry's ploy, but he will enjoy the fact that he has time to be a Knight to bringing a box along! ~*~ My dear man, if you're going to whine, might as well bring the boxed wine, so we can all regale you nightly! |

I guess I was whining, Sunshine, just thought I was musing about being alone, but yeah, whining came into play. Have the party without me, I have more whining to do, but thanks for the offer. Besides I'm not in the party mood. In the future, Sunshine, I'll try to keep my whining down so it doesn't cause such excitement. Never mind about telling all those lies. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

I do feel with you, dear Jerry, through your heartborn words and I know such times of coldness aren't easy to endure. And the questions about the way our transition will take place is certainly something that sooner or later every human being considers. I know we all have the need ... when we get older especially ... to talk about this and when there is no one around to talk to, it is very sad. So, again I say, it is good that you reach out also here on our blue pages. When we are in such a mood it is true we can't think of parties, but I am sure Sunshine just intended to uplift you, offering her words to bring you some warmth. It would be so nice to sit serenely together talking and drinking a glass of wine, trying to ease each other's fears and to come to terms with this greatest of mysteries, which is our life and consequently also our death. Let us imagine that our souls are connected to our divine Source with an invisible yet unbreakable silver string, let us tug a little at this string and feel the wondrous bond of love that responds and makes us trust again and believe the beautiful truth of being children of eternity, who have come down here on Earth with the mission of evolving in love. I firmly believe that we all are deeply loved and cared for. Love and hugs. Margherita |

Thank you, Margherita . I know Sunshine was just trying to be her kind self and help, I was just in a pretty bad place yesterday when I read her comments. You have a wonderful grasp of life, reality, and the beyond, and I wish I was the positive person you are. I am, off and on, but I lapse. Thanks, again, Margherita , for your kindness. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

A little whining is good for the soul, Jerry. Sometimes we just have those times when we need to be honest with ourselves. Ida |

I suppose you are right, Ida, I seem to do it with some regularity in the waning days of my life. Thanks for the pep talk. <><> Appreciate you being here, martiniat8, and thanks. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

once I felt like wailing aloud a lament to what was lost| I didn't wail, no I kept my bearings and myself alone One great thing about my cats is that I'm not truly alone... and when I feel like wailing, they listen and cuddle and comfort... and keep me sane. I hope things are better now! |

Yes, suthern, things are better now. I also have a little furry friend, a mutt by the name of Zoe. I honestly don't know what I would do without her. Thank you, kind person, for stopping by and commenting. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

Hey Jerry, Everybody has a bad day, some just aren't brave enough to own it. And pity parties are typically at their best when done alone. On the other hand, it seems this poem was an invitation. It's well said and truth not always easily accepted. As for Sunshine, she's a hopeless optomist. I like that about her. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, |

I've had my fair share with hopeless optimists over the years of my life, but I took no offense, truly I didn't, Larry C. Thank you for being here. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
