I touch the glass
as a mime would do.
Clear, frozen time,
I can't pass through.
I must find words
that will shatter this wall
and release my voice...
once and for all.

I know the feeling,  Ida , I'm having "word" problems myself.

Ida,

a long time ago I wrote of such a glass,
only the poem was long and drawn out...
but I never did relate it to a mime...

I like yours!

I know the feeling.
Almost a hopeless claustrophobic unable to breath feeling.

Very well expressed.

I can relate to being "behind the glass", with palm pressed to it, shouting for all life's worth and yet knowing no one on the other side can hear.  It's a despairing feeling.

Excellent write.  I do hope you break through.

Yes, I have been feeling a little stifled lately (As Archie Bunker would say). Thank you all for reading and commenting.

I'm always intrigued by your inspiration, your visuals, and your short verse most of all.

Oh so good!!

Quite impressive, dear Ida. Sometimes we express our innermost feelings without words.
And you offered a great vision of this state of things.

Love,
Margherita

Glass ceiliings, glass walls. I hate that! But I liked this.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
