Poor Guido had a problem for, at this time every year
He planted his small garden in the yard.
He tried to do it this time but there wasn't any way.
His hands were old - the ground was very hard.

In years before, when it was time, his son would dig the ground
And Guido walked behind to plant the seed
But now his son was stuck in prison, killed some men, they say
With poor old Guido left at home in need.

He sent a letter to his son to tell him of his plight
And got a letter back three days ago.
His son said, "Don't dig there this year, no matter what you do!"
That's where I buried bodies, don't you know???"

The next day F.B.I. showed up and also local fuzz.
With picks and shovels ready for the day
They dug from dawn to dusk all day but didn't find a thing
Then got back in their cars and drove away.

Guido later got a letter from his son in jail
That read, "Hey, pop, I hope you're doing fine.
Go ahead and plant your seeds. The ground should be dug up.
There's nothing too good for that dad of mine!"
