A screech owl gives a warning scream, concerning what it sees taking place. There are fewer and fewer to mourn the destruction. One lone poet shakes his head, hovering o'er an unfinished poem no one will read. he has no contemporaries to uphold him in showing light upon the umbrage. Those who, by stealth of night, read his words, thinking somehow it is all erroneous, poetry is supposed to be a gentle word sculpture. The Western World has given notice, it will run, not fight for home and hearth. History will be written by the victors, it always is, except for brave poets fervently describing the horror of it al. ~~ Those who are silent are the first to be shot. ~~ |

I have read a few tomes about a peoples resilience at the end of their times, and always, always, it is the poet who laments with a bleeding heart, and the truest of words. Well done, Jerry. |

Oh, so do I, Lori, but there is darkness gathering inside our beloved country and people, for the most part, are choosing to ignore it. Much like Europe is doing. Thank you for being here. Sunshine, good to see you. Poets have almost always sounded the alarm, many times resulting in their gruesome deaths. I appreciate your words on the matter very much. ~~ Those who are silent are the first to be shot. ~~ |

A screech owl gives a warning scream And the Poet hears and stirs the consciousness of his fellow travellers with his words. The "warning scream" should not paralyze us and make us blind to the decadence of our so called civilized world, you are right. It must be the waking call to act. And we can only individually begin to counteract by acting out of love, by being love, by being compassionate. The seeds of love and justice will grow and spread upon the trust that a different world is possible, because Love is stronger than hate. Thank you, dear Jerry, for being the poetic voice you are. Every vision is precious, and what we do with it is decisive. Love, Margherita |

Before the destruction, in the midst of calamity, and echoing in the aftermath are the words of the bard... always met with acceptance – seldom with understanding. In a room full of patrons, one sings… alone. Well done, friend. Michael |

You seem to have a full grasp of the situation,Michael, and are not afraid to speak/write about it. Thank you for that. ~~ Those who are silent are the first to be shot. ~~ |
