.

It is good
We cannot hear
The dead

What could they
Possibly say to us
Rushing oblivious
Down the same road

Or is it
A sweep of wings
In the wind
A sigh among leaves
As we pass them by
That seeks to convey
What they would
Have us know
Now before it’s time

To join sky and sea
In that great anonymity
Watching the living
Die

Wow, much to think about here, John, and I will be thinking about it.

Dittoing Ida and Easy1.  John, your poetry is like a Greek temple, particularly the temple at Sunion - devoid of any clutter, beautiful, powerful, stunning, effective and meaningful, standing stark against the sky and the sea.

Much to contemplate--as life and death pass us on that winding road.
